4 different types of film openings

The 4 different types of film openings are:

  • Titles on blank screen
- Usually a white text on a black background with a clear font
- Common, as it low budget
-This is a simple way of presenting the beginning of a film

  • Titles on a still image
- More elaborate ( a move past text to incorporate text with visual image)
-Clear and readable.
  • Titles over moving images
- Titles, sound and usually no dialogue and moving images
-Shows a narrative beginning
- Introduces the tone, story-line and the theme

  • Titles using animation or motion
- Integrated with the images that we see.
-Lots of digital technology and stylized in post production

My 2 favorite 'type'  of title sequence:

1. Titles with moving images
I think that this type of title sequence is really effective because it gives the audience an idea of the story-line and it also sets a clear tone and atmosphere, therefore it creates an expectation. In addition its more realistic, compared to the other type of title sequences.

2. Titles using animation or motion
I also like this type of title sequence because i find it that its really creative and quite interesting as all the animation and graphic that they do or relate to the movie, but its done in a really intelligent. This title sequence doesn't give too much information but it gives you a small idea. I does what the title says
