RESEARCH: Target Audience 2

An audience are the people who consume a product, we define Target Audiences as a group of people that the products is created/ for/ aimed at.

It is useful for a film to have a target audience because they give film creators an idea of what they should put into a film for it to appeal to a particular kind of audience, target audience also help with important decision making e.g. actors, if the target audience preferred America actors then it would be productive to get an American actor to star in the film. 

For this Research activity I created a Survey Monkey account and conducted a survey about peoples favourite film genres, this helped me to develop a clearer idea of audiences tastes and preferences.

My results told me that the 3 genres audiences preferred were Action, Comedy and Horror, Reasons they gave for this is that these genres made them engage with the context and build their adrenaline as they anticipated what would happen next especially for Action and Horror.

Based on this I would prefer to make a Title Sequence for Horror because my research let me know that this genre was not limited to only one audience group.

However I also noticed that for some genres similar audience groups had similar genre preferences e.g. women over 20 enjoyed Romantic movies unlike men over 20 who's preference was Action movies in particular Fast & Furious 7.
